Hotel Creina - Kranj was built in 1970 according to the plans of the architect Edvard Ravnikar as one of his copyright works. It was pronounced a historical and cultural monument.
Through centuries the name of the town Kranj was changed from Carnium, Creina, to Chreinberg. The hotel »Creina« is named after one. It is located in the center of Kranj.

The hotel's excellent location allows quick access to the airport, the capital city of Slovenia (Ljubljana), Ski Center Krvavec, Tourist Center Bled, and to the business and sports environment in Kranj.

Through the years the hotel experienced many changes. Initially it was intended to be more like a holiday hotel with a pool and sauna, but later on these places were let out to various business activities (the bank, shops, etc.).

Today the Hotel Creina offers 87 rooms (plus2 apartments and 5 rooms for disabled persons) that are equipped with a shower, a telephone, a mini-bar and a TV-set. You can also avail yourself of our restaurant with 200 seats, aperitif bar with 60 seats, beauty salon and a hairdresser's salon and a banquet hall with 50 seats.

The hotel also sports the newly opened Casino Max. Visit our wonderful terrace and park in our own parking area.
In our immediate vicinity you can find the offices of the SKB bank, tourist agencies Kompas and Ilirika, a baby equipment store and GBD – the Joint-stock Company of Upper Carniola.

The city of Kranj was the home town of France Prešeren, Slovenia's greatest poet, who is also buried there. Visit Prešeren's grave and memorial museum in Prešeren's grove where the poet Simon Jenko is also buried. Because of numerous archaeological findings of the 8th and 7th centuries BC. and numerous findings from the Old Slavonic era Kranj is a historical town .
